Painting (Trompe-l'oeil)
Joachim Grommek creates geometric-abstract works that play with illusion and the materiality of the image. He is particularly known for his trompe-l'oeil paintings that meticulously mimic materials like chipboard and adhesive strips. His work challenges the medium of painting and the status of images as sensory means of knowledge. He has been part of Galerie Mathias Güntner's program for over 20 years.
