Birke Gorm was born in Hamburg and is based in Vienna. She works with discarded and residual materials like scrap metal, cardboard, and jute to construct sculptural forms that explore themes of labour, gender roles, and societal processes of equality. She holds a degree from the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna.
