DESCRIPTION
Mio Okido was born in Niigata, Japan, and is currently based in Berlin. She studied at the Tokyo University of the Arts and the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK). Her work explores global cultures of collective memory, national identity, and historical tragedies, specifically examining Japanese imperialism and German history through archival research and urban interventions.
