DESCRIPTION
Born in Essen and raised in Greece, Michail Pirgelis studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf under Rosemarie Trockel. His sculptural work is characterized by the use of decommissioned commercial aircraft parts which he transforms into minimalist-inspired sculptures. He lives and works in Cologne and has been awarded the Villa Romana Prize and the Audi Art Award for New Positions.
