Xavier Miserachs was a leading Catalan photographer associated with the renewal of documentary photography in Spain during the 1950s and 60s. His work is characterized by its neorealist style and its focus on the urban transformation and street life of Barcelona. He published several influential photobooks and left an archive of more than 80,000 images, which is now housed at the MACBA in Barcelona.
