Neo Rauch is a leading figure of the New Leipzig School. Born in Leipzig, his work is characterized by enigmatic narratives that blend elements of Socialist Realism, surrealism, and pop art. He studied under Arno Rink and Bernhard Heisig at the Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts and achieved international acclaim after the 1999 Armory Show in New York.
