Sebastian Riemer, a former student of Thomas Ruff at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, explores what he calls 'photographic ruins'. He often works with found or discarded archival photographs, enlarging them to reveal states of decay and the material interventions that challenge the medium's claim to objectivity.
