Lauriston Avery

Lauriston Avery is a New York-based artist known for mixed-media paintings that explore the intersection of the scientific and the sublime. He employs vernacular and found materials such as soil, glue, feathers, and hair to create abstract, indeterminate landscapes and ghostly visages. Avery received his BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art and also studied at the San Francisco Art Institute.
