Helene Appel

DESCRIPTION

Helene Appel creates life-sized paintings of everyday domestic objects, such as chopped vegetables, puddles of water, or rumpled textiles, on raw linen canvas. Her practice explores the relationship between the subject and the act of painting, resulting in works that oscillate between illusionism and abstraction.
