Born in Velbert, Klaus Fußmann studied at the Folkwang School in Essen and the University of the Arts in Berlin. He served as a professor at the University of the Arts Berlin from 1974 to 2005. He is widely recognized for his landscapes and still lifes, often executed in oil, watercolor, or pastel, which focus on the play of light and color.
