Born in Switzerland and based in Los Angeles, Carmen D'Apollonio is a self-taught ceramicist who previously assisted the artist Urs Fischer. Her sculptural practice produces expressive, often anthropomorphic lamps and vessels that fuse functionality with a spontaneous, humorous sensibility.
