DESCRIPTION
Born in Saint-Etienne and based in Paris, Bernard Piffaretti has committed his practice since 1986 to the 'duplication method'. His abstract paintings consist of two seemingly identical halves split by a vertical axis, exploring the impossibility of perfect replication and the nature of the artistic gesture.
