John Robert Wildman (1788–1843), sometimes recorded as Widman, was a portrait, historical, landscape, and animal artist born in Lambeth. He rose to prominence in the 1820s and exhibited works at the Royal Academy and the British Institution. His portraits of local figures, such as Mary Linsdell of Barking, are part of the museum's collection.
