Mohammed Kazem is a pioneer of contemporary Emirati art, based in Dubai. His practice encompasses video, photography, performance, and installation, often focusing on the transformation of his environment and the measurement of transient phenomena like light and sound. He was a member of the influential group of Emirati conceptual artists known as 'the Five' and represented the United Arab Emirates at the 2013 Venice Biennale. His works are held in collections such as the Guggenheim and the British Museum.
