DESCRIPTION
Acaye Kerunen is a Ugandan multidisciplinary artist whose installations are forged from natural materials locally grown and woven in Uganda, such as banana fiber and raffia. Her work seeks to dismantle hierarchies between fine art and craft while addressing themes of women's labor and climate change. She represented Uganda in its inaugural national pavilion at the 2022 Venice Biennale.
