DESCRIPTION
Lisa Milroy achieved fame in the 1980s for her still life paintings of ordinary objects, such as shoes and light bulbs, arranged in grid patterns. Her work explores the relationship between materiality and the act of looking. She was elected a Royal Academician in 2005 and won the John Moores Painting Prize in 1989.
