DESCRIPTION
Robert Marc was a French painter whose work is characterized by a unique fusion of analytical Cubism and Russian Constructivism. Influenced by masters like Malevich and Rodchenko, he spent much of his career working in seclusion in the French countryside. His geometrically constructed planes of color and complex palettes were largely hidden from public view for twenty years until posthumous exhibitions brought his prolific output to an international audience. He died in 1993.
