Born in Ji'an, Liu Jianhua spent years working in a porcelain studio in Jingdezhen before studying at the Jingdezhen Pottery & Porcelain Institute. His work utilizes ceramics to reflect on the rapid social and economic transformations in China, often adopting a 'no meaning, no content' conceptual approach in his more recent minimalist porcelain objects.
