Tao Aimin uses traditional Chinese washboards as a primary medium for her installation and printmaking works, exploring the histories and labor of rural Chinese women. Inspired by the secret women's script Nüshu, her practice bridges the gap between traditional folk art and contemporary academic practices. She lives and works in Beijing.
