Born in Jilin Province, Geng Xue is known for her work in porcelain, which she combines with stop-motion animation to create complex narrative films like 'Mr. Sea'. Her practice explores themes of birth, destruction, and the interplay between Chinese folklore and contemporary sensibilities. She represented China at the 58th Venice Biennale in 2019.
