Kieren Karritpul is a Ngen’giwumirri artist from the Nauiyu community (Daly River). Since the age of fifteen, he has dedicated himself to art, using the weaving process as a visual metaphor for the land. As a man, he is culturally precluded from weaving, so he instead paints magnified views of woven objects to celebrate his matrilineal heritage.
