Akil Ahamat is a Sydney-based artist who works across video, sound, performance, installation, and games. Their practice considers the physical and social isolation of online experience and its effects in configuring contemporary subjectivity. Ahamat's research often focuses on ASMR as a therapeutic tool, translating its restorative effects into intimate audio experiences within public gallery spaces. They are a 2024 Clothing Store artist-in-residence at Carriageworks.
