DESCRIPTION
Dr Christian Thompson AO is a multidisciplinary artist of Bidjara and Chinese-Australian heritage. His work engages with notions of identity, cultural hybridity, and history, often using self-portraiture and native flora. In 2010, he became the first Aboriginal Australian to be admitted to the University of Oxford. His exhibition 'House of Gold', commissioned by 4A, explores his southern-Chinese gold-rush lineage.
