Performance and Conceptual Art
Barbara T. Smith is a pioneer of feminist and performance art in Southern California. Since the late 1960s, her work has explored the body, spirituality, and sexuality through radical performances and early experimentation with Xerox technology. She co-founded the F-Space gallery and has been a central figure in the West Coast conceptual art movement.
