DESCRIPTION
Robert Gschwantner was born in 1968 in Steyr, Austria, and has lived and worked in Berlin since 2004. His artistic focus involves the topographical aspects of man-made landscapes such as artificial islands and canals. He is known for using transparent PVC tubes filled with materials like crude oil or contaminated water to create 'oil carpets'. He is part of the 'COMMUNIcare - Mediterranean' project at nGbK (2026).
