Alice Maher is one of Ireland's most influential contemporary artists. Working across sculpture, photography, and installation, she often utilizes natural materials like hair and thorns to explore themes of mythology, gender, and the female body. She represented Ireland at the São Paulo Art Biennial in 1994.
