Sako Yachiyo is a Japanese artist who has lived and worked in France since 1979. Her work primarily consists of black ink drawings on traditional Washi paper, depicting scenes of daily life interwoven with mischievous spirits known as yokai. Her style combines the Japanese tradition of ukiyo-e with Western cinematic influences to explore subtle absurdities with minimalist clarity.
