Cheryl Pope is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice emerges from the act and politics of listening, specifically addressing race, gender, and power. She often uses textile 'paintings' made by needle-punching wool into cashmere to explore emotional complexities of love and vulnerability. A long-time student of Nick Cave, she is a professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
