3D Painting and Sewn Fabric
Alan Neider creates large-scale, energetic paintings by sewing and constructing fabric surfaces, such as U-Haul blankets, which he then paints and stains. His work challenges the boundaries between painting and sculpture, utilizing texture and volume to create a complex tactile experience. He received his MFA in Sculpture from Washington University in St. Louis and has received a Robert Rauschenberg Work Grant.
